About Us: A Modern Filipino Panaderya

We are a mom-daughter-and-daughter pop-up cottage bakery based in Allen, Texas! We specialize in Filipino baked goods, pastries and desserts. Our one mission is simple: to share the Filipino bakery experience.

We miss the panaderya back home. “Panaderya” means “bakery” in Filipino, and they are staples in every neighborhood. It is part of the daily routine: wake up, take a walk to the corner bakery, and enjoy a hot, fresh pandesal with a cup of 3-in-1 coffee. Yummy! We want to bring this feeling of home and tradition from our kitchen to your table, all while highlighting the flavors of the Philippines. We are beaming with pride to be able to share our food and culture with you!

At the heart of The Pandesal Place is our mom, Jennifer. All our family and friends know that Jennifer is the best cook and baker. She started baking at a very young age, and was always particularly interested in cake decorating. Immigrating to the US prompted her to master Filipino bread and pastries. At the time, Filipino baked goods were not easily available in the DFW area. Taking matters in her own hands (she’s always had this can-do, DIY spirit), she spent the next ten years mastering Filipino bread making. After much trial and error, the pandesal was perfect.

Jennifer and her two daughters, Julia and Rafaela, started The Pandesal Place on June 20, 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic. Like everyone else, we were also baking in our kitchen. Ube pandesal was the popular baking trend for Filipinos on social media. Already having perfected the pandesal, it was easy to incorporate Jennifer’s special ube halaya recipe and a healthy slice of cheese. It was the most delicious pandesal we had ever had. We began accepting pre-orders, and by our second round of pre-orders, we were baking over a thousand pieces of pandesal!

Since then, The Pandesal Place has seen an outpouring of support. We have been flooded with online orders and have seen long lines at our market pop-up events. We never expected this level of patronage, and are so grateful for our customers who come to try for the first time and those who come back every single time! We hope to continue expanding our menu offerings and provide the DFW community with a mix of authentic and modern offerings of Filipino panaderya classics!
